Sports & Life Skills

At CIS, life skill development through organized sports activities is an integral part of a student’s daily routine, whereby every student is encouraged to join at least one sports discipline. We believe in mass participation, exposing our students to a number of sporting events at School, inter-school/district, zonal, regional, state, national and international levels.

Being team players helps children to develop many of the social skills they will need for life. Sport helps children develop better ways to cope with the highs and lows of life. Children learn to bounce back from disappointment, cope with unpleasant experiences and become more resilient to face the uncertainties of life.

Fitness Maping

We, at CIS, have a unique system of continuously monitoring our students’ overall fitness profile. The students are mapped across seven basic elements of fitness, viz. Speed, Strength, Cardiovascular Endurance, Power of Hands, Power of Legs, Agility and Flexibility against the internationally established norms and progress is monitored through objective feedback provided once a year. The profiling is age specific, and not a ‘run of the mill’ fitness report. It is scientific and meaningful, showing the fitness level of a child at a glance.

Intra-Murals

During each academic session, the School holds Inter House Sports Competitions. The four Houses compete vigorously for overall Sports Trophy awarded during the Annual Sports Carnival held every year.

Extra-Murals

Students are sent to participate in numerous district, state and national sports tournaments. Students also get an opportunity to participate in SGFI Nationals through CBSE teams and CBSE Inter-School Sports & Games Competitions.
